We are extremely fortunate to be able to offer lessons with Reading Recovery teachers during our summer school session. Not only do we provide lessons to first grade students, but we also offer lessons to students up to fifth grade who are struggling significantly with literacy learning. This opportunity helps prevent retention, provides language support for some English language learners, and closes the gap between our struggling learners and their peers as they progress toward our benchmark expectations.
